Why Assembly
Our values & club culture
We believe that everyone deserves play. Pickleball is the reason we gather and the agenda for our sessions, but the club is all about creating inclusive space for all.
We come to the sport from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, privileges, and abilities. It is on each of us to lift one another up, to offer encouragement and to celebrate growth.

Assembly Pickleball Club Guiding Principles
We're here to lift each other up
Sport is a celebration of the joy of movement and the development of physical skill. We each learn at different rates. At Assembly is safe to learn slowly, to make mistakes, and to seek help. We're there for it!
Each of us lifts up the others.
Set your own highest standards
We grow when we give ourselves space just beyond our comfort zone.
Through practice, effort and application our bodies learn what to do, and if we allow our minds to follow we can achieve however much we want to. Set your standards high and gently escort yourself there.
Co-create the community
Say hello to new people, help with first week nerves. Be an ambassador for the club, and the sport, in the way you celebrate other's success. Everyone can belong if everyone makes sure.
Speak kindly to yourself
Every shot makes someone happy.
Speak kindly, offer encouragement and support to yourself the way you would to a teammate. Your journey will have unique challenges. All you need to do is commit to the process of getting better.
No coaching in matches
Coaching is for coaching sessions and drills. Play time is play time.
We treat our partners, teammates, opponents and ourselves with grace.
Speak kindly, offer encouragement and support.
No coaching in matches means no coaching, even if someone asks for it.
Burdens and Privileges
The better you are, the more you help. Elite development squad members are expected to play with new players, and to help them discover their love for the sport.
With great power comes great responsibility.
